Thanksgiving fun

Hooray for Thanksgiving! The holiday of sheer gluttony, parades, football and FOOOOOOOOOD.
I’m excited and a little bummed at the same time. No home cooked dinner for me this year, it’s off to Woodhaven House for dinner with some fam. I will however be making some killer pies tonight. Mmmmm pie.

Before the holiday gets under way, and if you are in town tonight, do a little pre-celebrating at Hell Gate Social where they are celebrating Thanksgiving Eve with Happy hour all night long. Check it out:
$2 Hell Gate Social Lemonade Shots
$3 Bud, Bud Light and Carlsburg Beer
$4 Premium beers*Well drinks and Martinis*
Excludes Celebrator & Trappistes Rochefort

Just as exciting as the parade itself is the blow up of all the balloons which happens tonight. Grab a steaming hot cup of hot cocoa and head over to the Upper West Side between 3 and 10pm today. 77th to 81st Streets between Central Park West & Columbus Aves with entrance at 79th St. and Columbus Ave.; 3pm-10pm. Watch all your favorite characters come to life.

(super grover...my fave)

Speaking of favorite characters, Thursday is the 80th anniversary of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Joining the familiar helium favorites, Super Grover, Scooby Doo and Spongebob Squarepants, are newcomers The Energizer Bunny and Flying Ace Snoopy. Charlotte’s Web and Mother Goose are joining in on the float action. The parade starts at 9AM at 77th and Central Park West. It proceeds to Columbus Circle and turns onto Broadway where it continues until it turns west on 34th street just past Herald Square. If getting to Manhattan at 6:30 is not your idea of a fun time then just watch it on NBC.

And Friday...well Friday is a food coma day. Unless you're into early bird specials, then you can enjoy Black Friday.

Happy Turkey Day everyone!
